Supporting a Well Wairarapa

At Wairarapa DHB, we are passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of everyone in our beautiful region.

People are at the heart of everything we do: the people we care for and their families, the healthcare and community partners we work with, and the communities we’re supporting to thrive.

Everyone in our team contributes to our vision of a Well Wairarapa. Highly skilled and hugely dedicated, our people are as diverse as the communities we serve.

We live our values every day in the way we work and the services we provide.

Located on the east coast of the North Island, we’re one of 20 district health boards (DHBs) that strive to meet the healthcare needs of the people and communities within our regions.

Working with our healthcare partners and other agencies, our 700-strong team delivers services in our hospital and in homes and communities throughout Wairarapa.

We also look for opportunities to promote healthy lifestyles and support people and their families to take the steps to enhance their own wellbeing.

Delivering healthcare in a smaller, provincial DHB allows us to be flexible, respond quickly to change and work collectively to keep improving what we do.

Our region – it’s the place to be!

Breath-taking beaches and bushscapes, beautiful parks and cycleways, friendly communities and fantastic schooling – Wairarapa has it all!

Close proximity to major cities means you don’t have to go too far for the big city lights, but there’s plenty to do and see while you’re here.

Whether you’re into exploring the great outdoors, speciality shopping, sampling world class food or enjoying a more relaxed lifestyle with your family, Wairarapa has something to offer everyone – whatever your life stage.
