Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) - Imaging Department

Wairarapa Hospital, based in Masterton is a little more than an hour from Palmerston North Airport, Wellington International Airport and inter-island ferry connections. Daily rail service links Wellington with Wairarapa towns. Scheduled InterCity coach services also run from Palmerston North to Masterton.

Wairarapa District Health Board is looking to employ a registered MRT. Your responsibilities will include working in all general areas of the department including, CT and Fluoroscopy and performing examinations in special care areas such as HDU, Theatre, Emergency and general wards.

The Imaging Department uses the Carestream PACS/RIS system:

  • Fluoroscopy
  • Ultrasonography
  • General radiography
  • CT

Experience in CT preferable however applications will also be accepted from individuals willing to train in CT.

This is a permanent full time position, working 80 hours per fortnight, with a requirement to be available for the after hours on call roster. Currently the service runs shifts Monday to Sunday, with an afterhours and weekend on-call component. Actual days and hours of work will be discussed further at interview.
