The Wairarapa District Health Board (DHB) works across the Wairarapa region to plan, fund and provide an extensive range of healthcare opportunities for our community. Services are offered in the home and within the hospital, with a well networked team of primary and secondary care health providers. The Wairarapa Hospital, located in Masterton, is one of New Zealand's smallest public hospitals, which allows us to be agile and flexible, responding quickly to changing needs. We challenge ourselves to be innovative and bold, while always prioritising quality, safe and improved care to support Wairarapa to be well.

With a largely rural population of almost 50,000 residents, made up of five characterful towns and many rural and coastal communities. Wairarapa is a vibrant place to live, work and enjoy the range of leisure pursuits and entertainment options available.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to join us as our Director Pacific Peoples Health. This is a critical leadership role for our region supporting a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach to the delivery of health services that meet the needs of our Pacific community.

We need an experienced leader that has:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification, preferably a health professional qualification
  • A successful leadership and management track record at a senior level within the Pacific health sector.
  • Championed change, growth and development to deliver positive outcomes, utilising their advanced relationship and stakeholder management skills.

As a senior leader within the DHB, you will also have a critical contribution to make in driving our Strategic Direction and ensuring that across the DHB we work together to deliver on our commitments.

This is a permanent, part time position working 16 hours per fortnight. The specific days and hours of work will be agreed with the successful candidate.
