Antenatal Clinic - Registered Midwife

Masterton, New Zealand

Reference: 5762888

Working within the Wairarapa DHB you will become part of an enthusiastic, dynamic and committed team of health workers providing an innovative approach to healthcare.

Our maternity service provides care for women in the Wairarapa region with just under 500 births per annum. Midwives have the opportunity to work across their scope of practice by facilitating the running of obstetric antenatal clinics, providing care to ante and postnatal inpatients and working alongside their LMC midwife colleagues to provide secondary intrapartum care.

In this role you will provide expert midwifery care to pregnant women/people being covered by the DHB for primary care. The focus is to provide triage, booking and routine antenatal care for those unable to source a LMC in the community. The second component would be to provide day assessment e.g. CTG monitoring, ferrinject infusions, PET screens as required.

We want to hear from you if you have a passion to provide midwifery care in partnership with other care providers, and you want to work in a friendly and supportive environment. You will need a minimum of 5 years' experience, previous secondary/tertiary care experience a bonus.

This role is for 8 hours a week but we would be open to discussing with potential candidates the option of this role in addition to other part-time and permanent positions currently advertised for the Wairarapa Maternity Team.

For further information please contact Kirsty Mitchell, Charge Midwife Manager (Interim) on (06) 946-9800 ext 4111 or (027) 675-5931.
