If so, this may be the opportunity you are looking for.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Registered Nurse with operational leadership experience to be the Charge Nurse Manager of the Wairarapa Hospital Medical Surgical Ward (MSW). This role is an exciting opportunity to lead the MSW nursing team, and to work alongside the multidisciplinary team to ensure people aged 16 and over receive the acute medical and surgical care they need to recover from their acute event and be discharged in a timely way.

The MSW team works across a 38 bed unit at Wairarapa Hospital, and has strong links with other inpatient services including the Emergency Department and High Dependency Unit, and the Perioperative and Rehabilitation services.

In this role you will lead a combined medical surgical nursing team and work very closely with medical and allied health clinicians and other multidisciplinary team members. You will have at least five years' nursing experience including a management / leadership role, and will have a sound knowledge of clinical nursing practice and acute care. You will have a strong patient centred approach, superb communication skills and the ability to form strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders across a range of settings.

This is a permanent full time position, working Monday to Friday. The role is based in Masterton.
