Support Worker - Community Nursing & Support Services

Our home support service provides assistance with household management, and support with medications and personal care for people living in need throughout the Wairarapa, including palliative care.
This position would suit those who have an interest in working with the elderly or infirm and previous work experience in caring for others would be a distinct advantage.
You will be well supported by the team coordinator and the district nursing team, and will receive a good orientation. In addition, support for on-going training will be available to the successful candidates.
A work vehicle is generally available and the hours of work depend on the number of clients we have at any given time. We do require applicant's to have a full and valid NZ drivers' licence as well as be contactable via a mobile phone.
This is a permanent part time position, working 24 hours per fortnight. Our staff receive a roster in advance although you may be contacted at short notice on occasions. The hours of work may include early mornings and early evenings generally between 7am to 7pm Monday through Sunday, including statutory holidays. There may also be the opportunity to work additional hours in this role.
You will be required to work across the Wairarapa region.
Due to the nature of this role, we will require a full Police Check under the Vulnerable Children's Act. This will involve you needing to disclose on your application if you have ever been charged with, or convicted of a criminal offence or been released from prison.
